ALL INCLUSIVE ELOPEMENTS IN FREDERICKSBURG: These properties offer lodging, officiant, flowers, cake, champagne, just add your formalwear and a photographer!
GORGEOUS… IF YOU DON’T MIND SHARING IT: These properties will create a unique backdrop for your vows; although they are public attractions they are big enough to find a quiet corner to yourselves. Consider going on a weekday or a weekend early morning to avoid peak tourist crowds.
THE FREE WEDDING VENUE: CHAPEL DULCINEA: Weekdays the Chapel is free to rent, and a small fee for evenings and weekends.
WEDDING VENUES WITH LODGING – BUT ON WEEKDAYS: These locations are awesome and usually booked for big events on the weekends. But consider staying at their overnight cabins during a weekday and take advantage of some exclusive hill country scenery and ceremony spots.
OR CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE: How much do couples usually spend on a DIY elopement? Here’s a few steps to break it down:
- $600- $1000 LODGING: Book a 2 night stay at any scenic AirBnB (average for the area is $280/night) where the property is all to yourself. Ask the host if you can have 3 daytime guests (hair and makeup artist, officiant, photographer); let them know you’ll be eloping there but you’re otherwise not going to need any other special provisions.
- $130-$200 OFFICIANT & MARRIAGE LICENSE: You can get a license in your home county and bring it to the Hill Country, inquire with your local County Clerk’s office. Get a quote for a Justice of the Peace to perform the official ceremony outside at your lodging site.
- $350 – $650 PHOTOGRAPHY! You’re already doing it!
- $75 – $350 Special event hair and makeup
- $50 – $150 Hand tied bouquet pre-ordered from a local florist or grocery store
- $50 Champagne, champagne flutes, tiny cake
- $100-$300 Dress, shoes, accessories. Try Lulu’s for trendy wedding dresses under $200
- $100- $150 A special dinner out on the town

GILLESPIE COUNTY ELOPEMENT TIPS: The Gillespie County Justice of the Peace does wedding officiating for walkable distances from the Courthouse like the Marktplatz Garden or the Gillespie County Park Gazebo. To have a JP Officiant perform a simple elopement ceremony near the courthouse or meet you elsewhere offsite, get a quote by calling 830-307-6193. A Gillespie County Marriage Certificate can be obtained through the County Clerk’s Office; the cost is $80 and must be issued 3 days before it is signed by an Officiant.
